This show has morphed from a little Battle of the Network Stars type experiment involving cast members from The Real World and Road Rules, into the entire reason those shows even exist. Now they are a mere farm system for The Challenge.
Part of what sets this show apart is that the "stars" are reality show careerists. They have no other lives but this show, and desperately need the money to survive until the next season. Making matters even more difficult, they blow their cash on drugs and boob jobs. So you don't have to worry about them not bringing it.
Imagine the Olympics if the contestants were encouraged to take steroids and fuck each other. That's the beauty of The Challenge.
There are 2 drawbacks to this season: No Kenny, and no big beautiful, incredibly handsome and beefy Zach.
A Zach vs. CT matchup is the Mayweather/Pacquiao of The Challenge. Two monsters going at it.
But it was not to be. I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail and that happens at some point.
On the plus side, CT is in the building this year. As is Dustin, the straight guy who used to do gay porn. He has to team up with the girl he went out with until she found out he used to suck wieners on camera.
They're a team because it's the "Battle of the Exes". It's pretty easy to pull off because everyone on this show has had sex with everyone else at some point. The CDC should probably be aware of this situation because they're probably creating some kind of super strain of herpes. If an epidemic does break out in America, I wouldn't be surprised if Paula is patient zero.
Wes is back after his embarrassing performance in last year's finale, where Kenny had to carry him on his back up a mountain. Johnny Bananas is back as well, fresh off his lawsuit against Entourage over the name Johnny Bananas.
Overall, it's shaping up to be an enjoyable season and I encourage you to get on board.

I am thrilled to have found your blog! It's oddly reassuring to know that I'm not alone in my love/hate for all things Bachelor & Bachelorette AND for the awesome Challenge series! Your writing is fresh and funny, I save your blogs as my "treat" reading, after I've slogged through the obligatory, but often dull, hard news. One tiny correction, this season's Challenge is the "Battle of the Exe's", not sexes, which is why poor, slutty Mandy is saddled with Wes, and why Heather is paired with Dustin, wieners or not. This Challenge will be doubly fun for me - I'll love watching the immature, narcissists who compete each week, and look forward to reading your take on the show.

I guess Zach and Ashley haven't broken up yet and that is why we are denied a Zach/CT battle royale. If Zach and Ashley did break up and the producers didn't get them on this show I will never forgive them.
I love this show SO MUCH but it would be even better if you did weekly recaps! (just sayin') I'd love to hear your take on the CT/Diem drama, who you think will win, who will hook up... and why would any girl EVER hook up with Wes? He's just gross.
I agree that Kenny will be missed this season, but I'm pretty excited about the cast otherwise. I especially love CT/Diem, Mark/Robin, Heather/Dustin and Abram/Cara Maria. I can't wait for ish to get crazzzy.
This is another vote for you to do recaps! There is so much to talk about... Diem needs to apologize to CT and then every 20 minutes Diem needs to ask CT "Are we best friends yet?"
Also, because this blog is called "Notes from a Hack about Kenny," does Kenny have any embarrassing Challenge exes? I can't remember.
they're being pretty flexible with this "exes" thing, i have to believe they would've had zach and ashley if they were up for it.
kenny actually has the most interesting situation. he hooked up with johanna, wes' ex after they broke up, and that's what started the feud between them. but i think johanna is not up for challenges anymore. that's unfortunate, because that is an enjoyable love triangle.
agree with you about wes, i don't fucking get it. though his body is insane.
how fucked up is diem when she can look like the bad guy with ct, when she had cancer and it's crazy ass ct!
