My TV Watching Slate is Overwhelming Me

Thank God the Bachelor ended. I'm overwhelmed with TV right now. I'm not sure I've ever had such a busy schedule, and I've fallen behind. Let's take a look at my current list (ordered from most gay to least gay):

Tosh.0
Smash
The Voice
Fashion Star
Selling LA
Jersey Shore
Revenge
The Challenge: Battle of the Exes
Portlandia
Saturday Night Live
Real Time with Bill Maher
Up All Night
Parks and Recreation
Celebrity Apprentice
Luck
Awake
House of Lies
Shark Tank
Walking Dead
Eastbound and Down

Sadly, I actually watch a lot more than this. For example, I also watch every Laker game, Sportscenter, all boxing, multiple episodes of Friends, etc. But this list represents shows that get recorded and are must sees every week. My life is a miserable failure.

This is like me with podcasts... I always seem to be backed up with about 20 eps. of Marc Maron and Doug Benson. Fortunately, I recently moved to the country and have a 50 minute commute to work, so plenty of listening time. Plus, we are beyond the reach of basic TV reception, which means I'm finally getting caught up on... uh... Miami Vice and Rocky and Bullwinkle?

You don't watch Justified? Talk about gay!

Echoing the comment above: It is crazy CRAZY that you are not watching Justified.

that's so funny, i knew with all those shows there was still gonna be one i left out that you would yell at me about.

i watched most of the first season of justified, it was too procedurally for me. bad guy of the week? is that not right? i am a big olyphant man.

You can take Luck off your list. HBO cancelled it today, but you probably already knew that. Dead horses are not good unless you put the heads in people's beds.

re Justified, there are certainly procedural elements, but they take a back seat to the show, which each season has a long storied primary antag (at least, in 2 and 3) that Tim is circling, along with his messy personal life ... I think it's less a procedural now than it was in its first season, to be honest ... granted, it's hard to get a cop show on TV that isn't, in some form, part procedural ... but yeah, dump Trump (tho' I guess you have to keep current on shit like that, right) and jump on Justified, it's totally worth it ...

Do you watch SNL just because you work in comedy, or do you actually find it funny at times? Because i dropped it like 3 years ago and haven't heard anybody that thinks it got better since then.

I'm glad everyone is watching Revenge, it reminds me of Lost, back when Lost was awesome.

Sorry - I'm late again.

What Joshua James said. With the addition that I wrote recaps/crit on this show for MSN.com, and you can pinpoint almost the exact time that Justified went from "well acted/written and entertaining procedural" to "fantastically well-acted/written and incredibly entertaining heavily serialized character study with some procedural elements"..and it was 10th episode of season one. :)

And then season two came along and was one of the best things on TV.

As a big Olyphant man, you will love it.

Make sure you fill us in when you finally watch some!

i watch snl out of tradition, and also because i'm in comedy, and also because i feel like the people i talk to during my day always want to talk about it.

also, it's like anything else. it's not great as a whole, but there's usually something in there that makes me laugh a little.
