You'd think that would be on the news or something. But hey, Kristen Stewart totally cheated on the guy she never would admit to dating who has a midget head, and that does take priority.
I was thinking about the whole AIDS thing too while watching True Blood the other night. All that blood drinking and sharing amongst humans and vampires and no one worried about AIDS (obviously the vampires wouldn't be, but the humans don't seem to care either). Just sayin'.
Sad isn't it? You'd think they'd be shouting this from the rooftops. Like Emily Blake - you're blog is the first I've heard of it. What the hell is the world coming to?!
Three. We've cured AIDS in THREE men. I first heard about the Berlin patient maybe six months ago and I was absolutely stunned (for the record, he just hit the five year mark, which means by medical standards he is CURED). And the medical community was so stunned that for the first time in years, money was being thrown into looked for an AIDS cure again. Prior to the release of the info on the Berlin patient only ONE pharma company was actively researching a cure. That number has gone up dramatically in the last year.
From the article: "At this point, they are far from saying these patients are cured. But the findings are "exciting," said Dr. Savita Pahwa, director of the Center for AIDS Research at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, who was not involved with the study."
It's extremely promising research to be sure, and hopefully it will lead to a cure, but we have not yet cured AIDS.

Yeah this is the first I'm hearing about it. Your blog is not where I should be hearing about this.
Didn't you see I Am Legend?! You gotta downplay that shit. That said, it is pretty freaking great news.

It's amazing. It's given me so much hope.
